Purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka…no for real. For serious I’m just kidding, but today is one meant for purification. How does one purify their surroundings? You can do it a few ways…by cleaning your closet, taking a shower with the intention to cleanse your spirit, throw out broken items, delete old mean texts, delete mean old friends, just move on. Breathe in the goodness, exhale the bulls*t.
I’d like to discuss peace on a deeper level. Currently we’re living in an era where a lot of people feel unsafe. We see images on our screens that evoke feelings of insecurity, anger, hate, and despair. It almost feels as though there is electricity permeating through the air. It’s difficult to focus, feel good, or get to a place of happiness. Anxiety and stress are king and queen, with that comes the attitude of hopelessness.
So how do we overcome these feelings of despair. When so many are suffering around the world and even in our own home. What can one find? In order to survive, for self preservation, I suggest taking extreme care of self. Look inward and ask yourself “what can I do to find peace?” Trust me, you’ll get your answer, but only if you’re willing to listen. For some its mediation, yoga, running, deep conversation, walking their dog, petting their cat more, finding moments of laughter and really embracing that sensation. It all helps and can ease the pain in big ways, if we appreciate how these little actions, in fact help us.
When I gazed upon this beautiful piece of work by British graffist Shok-1 titled “Masterpeace”, it made me reflect on the current state of affairs. I was really drawn to this image because, one I love blue and secondly, the details for the x-ray hand are impressive. I’d also like to point out that the artist could not have chosen a better background color. With all that I’ve said about finding inner contentment, blue is one color that can aid with all of that. Blue evokes a sense of calm and helps ease feelings of anxiety, it’s tranquil. Simply splendid, Shok-1’s “Masterpeace” wall is honestly a masterpiece.

It seems it’s always rainy in Paris. Even though that isn’t true, there are some periods where I question. Then I think about it, and we had weird weather back in New England where I’m from anyhow, so it’s all good. After the rain comes the sunshine.
This photo comes to you as I was on my way to the market, because in Paris it’s much better to get your food fresh at reasonable prices. How things usually go, you gotta wake up early on a Sunday to get your goods for the next couple of days. Why? Everything closes by noon or 1pm the latest and in my hood, most places are closed on a Monday. I cannot begin to tell you how good the fresh fruits and veggies have been to my body. I was hella picky in the states, but in Paris it’s much easier to eat healthy on a budget. The food regulations are at a whole other level. I could go on and on, but that’s for another day. For now, just enjoy me in all of my cuteness. 😉
